UDA Secretary General Senator Hassan Omar Hassan has joined a voter registration sensitisation drive in Mvita Constituency, Mombasa County, as the party steps up grassroots mobilisation ahead of future elections.
The exercise brought together grassroots leaders, community members and UDA parliamentary and Member of County Assembly aspirants at Tijara Grounds.
The participants urged eligible residents to register as voters and take part in democratic processes.
The campaign also encouraged residents who do not have National Identity Cards to begin the process of acquiring the documents, which are required for voter registration.
During the meeting, leaders highlighted the priorities, progress and achievements of President William Ruto’s administration.
Discussions also focused on the TUTAM Movement and the need to strengthen links between grassroots communities and the national development agenda.
Senator Hassan called on grassroots leaders and community members to sustain voter registration sensitisation and mobilisation efforts.
He said the efforts should ensure that no eligible citizen is left behind in exercising their constitutional right to participate in democratic processes.
The UDA Secretary General also emphasised the importance of increased participation by residents of Mombasa and the wider Coast region in Kenya’s development journey.
The sensitisation drive was hosted by UDA parliamentary and MCA aspirants in Mvita Constituency.
